The season 2 of Raised by Wolves ends with Marcus flowing as a reversed cross in the air. It's clearly a juxtaposition with Lamia when flying in shape of cross. The apostle Peter chose to be crucified reversely, for he believed he didn’t deserve to die in the same way as his teacher, Jesus Christ. I prefer to see Marcus, reversed cross, as satanic presence and Lamia, cross, as holy presence. This is more prevalent and recent interpretation, plus Sol wouldn’t humble itself as a student of Lamia anyway.The most attractive design of this show for me is that it keeps mixing the boundary between human and other beings. Androids share human emotions, the murloc mother longs for adopting human infants and the serpent even pesters for mother’s attention from its so-called brother. Seeing from an extraplanetary, sci-fi perspective, Homo Sapiens are not so distinguished with respect to both carnal form and sentimental richness.Superior intelligent beings think differently for human. To juxtapose them, I assume they all mean good to human. Mother and Father think in a human-centered way, which aligns with modern society. The quantum computer, Trust, dictates the optimal program, so that it benefits the collective, which is efficient but utilitarian, thus open to revolution. Grandmother is a loyal believer of Isaac Asimov; she damages human to protect them. Sol could be an extreme conservationist; it believes that turning human into trees benefits the greater good for the entire planet. It’s undeniable that the faith in human decreases steadily with their length of life.The more intelligent, the more deceptive.Murlocs < Infant serpent < Human < Lamia < Grandmother 。
