Funny but not idiotic,romantic but not foolish,inspiring but not confusing,Couples Retreat is one of those films that can actually get you laughing and thinking.They say that marriage is the tomb of love,once two passionate lovers step into the realm of marriage,first their feelings would go cold,next they begin to fight over some little trivial things,then they would hate,even loathe each other.The end is that they don't even recognize the person they once loved,not to mention understanding or caring that person.And isn't this a hurtful truth?When one day you begin to reminisce your past,thinking how the two of you loved each other,how you used to care every little gesture he or she makes,how you adored your other half...And this remembrance would just kill you,everything's gone bland,everything's colorless.That would be the ultimate nightmare of every marriage.I do admit that this movie somehow idealizes marriage and the complications of life.But still it presents some of the most typical problems that happen in a marriage,and it shows that there are ways to work them out only if you are both willing to give it a shot.The thing is: marriage can be happy!Those who are afraid of entering a marriage and those who are suffering marriage problems need to check this movie out,you may just need a vacation,a talk or simply a good laugh.Or just say to the one you want to have a marriage with:I'm gonna be the biggest ass you've ever seen.(Classic lines in the movie,see for yourself...)。
